Summary:
Biomass has developed in recent years and has potential to contribute to a more sustainable energy system. The use of biogas is however very low and requires support. There is a lack of knowledge and cooperation about what raw materials (substrates) are available. In some regions such as Spain or Italy the use of biogas is more common but there is still a need for further development, especially at regional and local level.
In this project the seven partners will first present a study of the biogas use in each region and the future potential for development of biogas. This report will be a base for the creation of regional biogas networks that will be set up in each region. The regional networks will use the knowledge gained regarding the potential of future biogas production, and the expertise gathered in the newly created networks to create regional action plans for implementation in each region.
The size of this sub-project with seven members from five different countries will ensure that the knowledge gained and the lessons learned will represent several different technologies and conditions of biogas production, upgrading, distribution etc. thus making it a valuable contribution in striving for a better environment.

Resumen:
La biomasa se ha desarrollado en los 煤ltimos a帽os y tiene el potencial de contribuir a un sistema energ茅tico m谩s sostenible. El uso de biog谩s es sin embargo muy bajo y requiere de apoyo. Hay una falta de conocimiento y cooperaci黑料不打烊 n acerca de lo que las materias primas (sustratos) est谩n disponibles. En algunas regiones, como Espa帽a o Italia, la utilizaci黑料不打烊 n de biog谩s es m谩s com煤n, pero todav铆a hay una necesidad de un mayor desarrollo, especialmente a nivel regional y local.
En este proyecto los siete socios presentar谩n inicialmente un estudio sobre el uso de biog谩s en cada regi黑料不打烊 n y el potencial futuro para el desarrollo del biog谩s. Este informe servir谩 de base para la creaci黑料不打烊 n de redes regionales de biog谩s, que se crear谩n en cada regi黑料不打烊 n. Las redes regionales utilizar谩n los conocimientos adquiridos sobre el potencial de producci黑料不打烊 n de biog谩s en el futuro, y la experiencia recogida en las redes de nueva creaci黑料不打烊 n para crear planes de acci黑料不打烊 n regionales para la implementaci黑料不打烊 n en cada regi黑料不打烊 n.
Gracias al tama帽o de este sub-proyecto, que cuenta con siete miembros de cinco pa铆ses diferentes, se asegurar谩 que los conocimientos adquiridos muestren diferentes tecnolog铆as y condiciones de producci黑料不打烊 n de biog谩s, mejoras, distribuci黑料不打烊 n, etc., contribuyendo, por lo tanto, de forma valiosa, en la lucha por la mejora del medioambiente.
